Taubers Horsehide Cafe Racer-Size 38/40.

This Beautiful Taubers is probably from the early 60s made in the Bay area California. Taubers was in business from 1941 to early 80s? Taubers and Cal leather may have been the last makers to use horsehide in the late 50s early 60s. I know of no major makers using horshide in the 60s.

I have two of these jackets. Neither fit me, but the bigger one I wear anyway. This is just too small for me

The condition is excellent as pictured. Taubers leather is as good as anything you will find today, probably better than many. I own/owned several Taubers and all are quality.

The size tag says 40. I'll get right to the measurements.

It is a jacket that will make you toss some others out the door. Tough to find a CR much nicer especially in horsehide.

Given the Taubers short sleeves, I re-measured. I'm calling the sleeves a hair over 23. So not 24 as indicated in the pictures. I want the new owner to be happy and know what they are buying.

I would actually pay more than $400 for one this nice in my size. The one I am keeping is not near this nice. Maybe I should put it on ebay for more money and see what happens. I've sold many jackets on ebay that no one here was interested in and got the same money.

I would actually pay more than $400 for one this nice in my size. The one I am keeping is not near this nice. Maybe I should put it on ebay for more money and see what happens. I've sold many jackets on ebay that no one here was interested in and got the same money.

I paid about just about that much for a horsehide Taubers that was beat to death and needed a new lining, and some holes patching up. And I was happy to pay it. So definitely this one is a good deal...if it was my size, I'd pounce on it.

Beautiful. I'd grab it, too, but sleeves are a smidge short and the 19" hem tells me it would be a bit tight when zipped up. Hope you sell it to someone for whom the fit is perfect.

I would agree. I have another that is probably a size 40 they added side pieces to! now maybe a small 42. I won't part with it until I find one that fits better. I've yet to see one 42 or above.
