Finally got a decent picture of my favorite self-drawn tattoo.
This is fab!! I love it. It's old school! I go under the ink needle again on Saturday!!

Fear of needles and pain sensitivity have little to do with getting a tattoo - I have both and I have been tattooed successfully multiple times.
Your design concept is interesting. Most people start with several separate pieces and then tie them in together.
Edward I don't imagine you'd have a problem getting inked.
Certain areas of the body are more sensitive than others but I think you'd handle it just fine.
I have two on my upper arms. They are from my military days, and I never grew tired of them.
I've been advised to avoid the chest and the spine.... otherwise, should be fine. Guess I'll find out over the next month or two! Really hoping I can hack it, because I so want that quasi-half sleeve.....

The underside of the arm is gonna kill you. There are so many more sensory nerves on the hairless parts of the arms..
Well, so long as you're not flashing them around, the other academics wouldn't know surely? Our chaps tend to still be quite conservative, too. But if you produce the goods (i.e. overheads on grants) you can pretty much get away with anything, and I do mean anything … Some of the shenanigans that go on, let me tell you!

I got a new tattoo. The original artwork is from 1917 and represents unity and solidarity among workers.
Here is the original:
Here is my new tattoo:
Edward, it is an image from a 1917 issue of the IWW newsletter Solidarity. Under the picture it read "The hand that will rule the world--one big union"
