The suits are similar, but the lapels on Ol' Blue Eyes' suit extend about an inch more.

Yeti,

That's true, I take your point, although it is a photo of a young Frank, and he was a skinny lad in his youth, which may make the lapels seem as though the extend further? Certainly the lapel "points" appear further out than the collar width.

May I ask which book this is?

I haven't thought about belt loops, definitely no belt loops - thanks for the tips.

Hi Viktor,

The photos are from a book called "Sharp Suits", by Eric Musgrave. It covers the history of the gentlemans suit, from its roots way back, to the modern day, with various chapters on each decade, style, fashion icons etc.

There are some fabulous sartorial photos in it (and some that are not so fabulous - think 1970's & 80's scene!).

A couple of links:

I'll scan and post up a couple more photos, a bit later.

Gents,

As promised, a couple more clips from the book, "Sharp Suits".

Note the third button hole detail, in the lapel fold on Daniel Craig's suit.

Dean & Frank, a particular favourite of mine!

Could be his trews riding down.... his shirt is also pulling up out of them (see on the left as we look at it, his right). I find this can happen with belted trousers, or, indeed, belt-less trousers that use some form of side-fastener in place of braces or belt. This could be the latter as I can't see any belt there....

Franks waistcoat appears to be riding up a little bit as shown by the slight bulge on the right hand side of his chest. Probably a result of the wind when that picture was taken.
