My wife and son in law convinced Molly May she looks cute in a red hat, the Boss of the Playground.

Here’s a fedora I made about a year ago. Started making my own hats about a year and a half ago, and have been working towards doing it professionally. The felt is 100% beaver from Winchester, the band is vintage rayon I bought off of eBay. The liner was made by me from satin lining material from my local tailor’s supply. And the sweat was bought from Brian Sullivan-Sullivan Hat Co.

That's really sharp! Nice work, Dave. What blocks are you using?

That does look really good.
Looking at it again, I noted your puller downer.
Did you make it for that brim width, so you could stretch the brim out while stretching the crown down?

No, I use that one for everything. Tried my hand at that and a tolliker a few months ago. They're crude, but they get the job done.

Thank you! This particular block is my own design. I carved one myself, and then got a few made by a company in England. Hat Blocks Direct if I remember right. Their prices are really reasonable. I also have a handful of 52’s, one or two 522’s (nearly identical to a 52) a 51 and a couple oddballs carved by me or non-numbered.
