Table talk.

Ben Franklin. I think he'd be a hoot. He's always seemed to me to be the most fun of the founding fathers to drink a beer with.

Teddy Roosevelt. A man of enormous energy and vision and probably not a boring conversationalist either.

Robert Heinlien. Preferably before he went crazy, but I'm not picky.

Teddy might be interesting and he could keep his hands off you. ;) Franklin was more of a do as I say not as I do kind of guy. It might be interesting to call him on all the wrongs he did his family during his lifetime.

And who, pray tell, is this "Carrie" woman?

.

Whoever it is, keep her away from Franklin. :p

For a start:

Boudicea - one resolute lady
Cromwell - where did his conviction come from
Elizabeth I - just because
The original Buddha and the current Dalai Lama - I'm interested
Jesus - before he was turned into a religion
Jack Kerouac
Mozart
A whole range of gorgeous celebrity types that would take far too long to list, but in no particular order Messrs Gibson, Pitt, BB Thornton, Ledger, Washington, Depp, and Snipes are all in there. ('Scuse me while I recover myself!)

And
The people who used to live at the site of and in my house over the centuries.

YES! Brilliant! Add that to mine as well. And I reserve the right to slug the one who installed the green plastic bathroom tile.

Maybe he's the brother of the person who was dwelling in my house, and thought "bright red bandana-patterned wallpaper - brilliant!"

So punch him twice. lol

I lived in a house with that wallpaper, too! They even papered the light switch, so it was very difficult to find.

I'm not sure who I would wnat over for dinner. For a quiet, getting to know you dinner:

my maternal grandmother (I've never met her)
my dad (I miss him and never got to really talk to him as an adult)
Mary McCleod Bethune
Malcolm X
my paternal grandfather (he was lynched)
Ms. Butterfly McQueen
I'll have to think about the rest

For a good time dinner:

Janis Joplin
Big Mama Thornton
Ms. Ella herself! :D
Pablo Picasso
Basquiat
Cab Calloway
Ms. Josephine Baker! (I can't think of more at the moment)

ooooo, Rod Serling! Oh, and Alice Walker. Well, Ms. Walker would be invited to both dinners.
