Anyone catch this tonite on CBS?

The basic premise is swingers (not dancers) in the 70s.

I really loved the music, the clothes, the hair, the cars and the decor! Very period correct.

I'm on board for the 13 episodes.

Not that I'm prude, or endorse any type of censorship, I can't believe CBS is putting on a show about swingers (and not the good, Vince Vaughn-kind). IT seems it would a more effective (and honest) show if it were on HBO or SHOWTIME or even FX. First, MMA and now this, CBS really is no longer "the Tiffany network."

I loved it, and am glad mainstream television is finally taking some risks with "controversial" subjects.

Although it may have been better served on HBO, I thought it was good enough that I'll watch a few more episodes before I make a decision whether I'll continue to watch the entire series. It will be interesting to see how CBS handles such a controversial topic.

It's worth another viewing.

I thought it was better than average fare. It did occur to me that some viewers might have skipped this one because of the time it aired. It might benefit from a rerun later in the evening.
This seems to work well for BBCA. Of course their programming is generally better, in my opinion, than US network TV.

I switched over to it during commercial breaks on NBC's Fear Itself. The sets were very good, even down to the crystal.
Swingers and drug users are boring. I'm hoping they'll show some real drama on here, not just controversy. So far it shows promise if I can get past the atrocious acting of the lead female.
An ex-fiance of mine was a swinger. The poor guy got so caught up in it and couldn't handle it he killed himself, snif.

I was hoping it was going to be a little more... interesting. I guess I wanted something more in the Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Six Feet Under, Deadwood, Shield, etc. mold. The writing was limp, the characters boring, the entire pilot had a sense from the first few minutes of "this is where we're going to go", and by the end of the episode, by golly, there they were and no surprises or bumps along the way that weren't telegraphed a good two or three scenes in advance.

Also, the costumes and hair are trying so hard for the most part that it has a costume party look, and there is just too, too much music. Why not write a compelling drama and let it happen without drowning out the utter inanity of what's on screen with song after song after song... ad nauseum.

I might try one more episode, but I'm already halfway checked out.

Waiting for July and Mad Men season 2...

It was like GREASE the movie, except it was set in the 70's and there weren't any cool cars, or cool campy songs and the hairstyles sucked a bit more and the clothes weren't as cool.

and oh yeah, there were drugs and sex.

But, I have to watch all episodes now after seeing the first one.
