I need a list (your opinion) of really good swing music. I've got all the big band's but now I'm looking for more. Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

As of late I'm huge into Billy Banks. Dunno if you have him or not, but he really makes me wanna dance.

Try to find some Phil Harris. I don't know if any of it has been transfered to modern media. All mine are still on 10" 78s. Old Golden Era L.A. type stuff.

All the Big Bands?

When you say "All" the Big Bands, what do you mean? There were hundreds. Do you have a good representation of Count Basey, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, Glenn Miller, Jimmie Lunceford, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey? Some of them were called Swing bands, some were called dance bands, but they all swung. Moving down the list, Coleman Hawkins, Erskine Hawkins, Cab Calloway, Earl Hines, Fletcher Henderson, Lionel Hampton, Andy Kirk, Les Brown. How about the most famous all girl band, The International Sweethearts of Rhythm? Chick Webb, Teddy Hill, Harry James, Gene Krupa, Woody Herman, Jay McShann. So many many others.
I'm somewhat partial to bands that also played elegant ballads, like Glenn Miller's Moonlight Serenade and Serenade in Blue, or Tommy Dorsey's Getting Sentimantal Over You.
And small groups, like Stuff Smith, Buster Bailey, John Kirby, etc. How about groups from the early pre swing era, like McKinney's Cottonpickers, with the great Don Redmond, or Benny Moten?
Sooooo much great stuff to pick from.

Here are some bands aroud today that I like: Loren Schoenberg, George Gee, Roy Gerson, City Rhythm (out of Philly). More when I think of them.

I have over 50 gigs of pre 1945 big band and I know i don't have "all the big band's" ...so i think you should share with us!!!! hahaha

what type of Big band is your favorite? You like em sweet or Hot?
