Sweet Seller Error.

A few days ago I scored this http://www.ebay.com/itm/270825962663?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 great blue suit.

I could tell it was definately NOT from the 70's as was proposed by the seller, the style, lining, jacket length, cuffs, etc. that it was most likely 40's... and for $9.99!!!!

Do you have similar stories?

It's a new eBay policy. Apparently, it doesn't apply to auctions that ended before this week.

To answer the original question, I'm not sure you can call it a mistake in that the description was correct but the seller had a "buy-it-now" way below the actual value so I snatched it up! It was an early Halloween postcard that sells (back when I bought it) for about $150. The BIN was for $7.95!

Maybe a little bit more ... but if the opening bid price had been higher too, there might have been no other bids at all.


'50s DB suits with a low-hanging collar and a low button stance aren't too hot right now on eBay. Furthermore, this one is a small size, but it's not the kind of thing that Japanese buyers are looking for.


The important thing is that TCMfan25 is happy, and he paid a low price for his happiness. In the end, that's all that matters.

Several of us here think that this is eBay's way of reducing its image storage burden ... and of encouraging sellers to host their own photos, rather than have eBay do it.
