Surprising find at Target

Walking around Target, and was surprised by some hats that had a bit of a larger brim than you would normally see there. Of course they were super cheap and made in China, but maybe this is a good sign of wider brims becoming a little more mainstream.

It's a good thing that hats are becoming more mainstream, this may also raise the general public's awareness of hats. Subsequently more people may actually notice how nice our hats are. Instead of thinking "he's wearing a hat" they might think "his hat is nice". I won't hold my breath but well done for posting garenb.

I work for Target and was thrilled to see something with a little more brim come in - now don't get all excited though, these things are horrible - but the fact that such a style was even considered by the buyers is a really positive thing.

They come in two sizes, and have an elastic fitted cloth sweat.

Are these shantung hats by the way? I would imagine that these Target hats can't be much worse in quality than my shantung that was made by Tomatessa Enterprises.

Today I found at my local Target what appeared to be the same hat as the ones on the left. The tag said paper, made in China. Around $15. All they had were large, and I am a medium.

Actually, Wal-Mart had a similar Panama-look hat a couple years ago and if you took the time to put a devent ribbon on it, it wasn't bad for a sweater ... Sure it wasn't a real Panama, but for $10 plus a little ribbon it made a great hat to wear with a Hawaiian shirt and shorts.... and it let you save your dress straws.

Sadly, we didn't get any of them at our Wally World this year. Just the huge wheat straw beach hats ... which NO ONE buys, by the way ... the cardboard golf gamblers and the tiny brim paper straws, which I also don't get.

I picked up a straw one, which is very soft, very cheap, but doesn't look that bad on a person's head. Honestly, though, I just wanted the plain black ribbon for something else.
