I got it in the mail today! Here it is. It's obviously never been worn. Love it -- the perfect black hat for me. It's also my first hat with a wind trolley. I'm no expert on fur felt but it feels really... nice.

I wore this one for the first time today in protest of the warmer weather that's moving in. It's a bit tight, probably due to age, so I had the forehead mark for a few minutes after sitting down at my desk. Still, there's something about this hat that oozes authority. It's not the dimensions. I think it's the shape of the crown in relation to the width of the brim. It's a towering hat, but not like the Akubra Federation -- it's more subtle. Maybe somebody else here knows what I'm talking about and can put it more eloquently. Either way, when I eventually take over the world, this is the hat I'll wear on my day of inauguration.

How special is a Borsalino?

A newbie here. I have two Stetsons and just got a Dobbs "gay prince" that has ( to my novice eyes) insanely light soft felt (please no San Francisco "gay prince" jokes). How special is a Borsalino? Is it just a difference in style or is it a difference in quality?

Borsalinos, at least the vintage ones, are truly special hats. Great felt, usually beautiful styling.

I'm a black hat wearing type of guy myself... I'm uneasy about my first white hat but we'll see how it goes.
