Suits to Transfer Swiss Funds In

Got this one last month. Yes, it's from the early 70s but I thought it very cool. Still trying to find the right tie and belt for it.

I think it either makes me look like a used car dealer or a cinematic 70s corrupt businessman who'd be transferring funds to Swiss bank accounts while a helicopter explodes in the background. I think I need brown aviator glasses to complete that look, though.

I know, nutty. I used to dismiss the 70s, having lived it, but that megalomaniac European industrialist look is starting to catch my eye.

Jacks Suit

You are on the voyage of the star ship Enterprise where no Lounger has been before. The sunnies look perfect IMHO.

Jack, you are one of those rare individuals who adapt any suit from any era to their personal style. Ultimately, they all become Senator Jack suits.

I like this one very much.

Is that the suit you found at Cheap Jack's? I have a picture somewhere of you trying that one on.
I knew it was a diamond in the rough! It looks great.

I like it! Looks like something Dirk Bogarde or James Mason might wear!
Maybe Alain Delon?

I was thinking Patrick McGoohan. Not quite so aristocratic, but classy and sinister. You need a Goldpfeil attaché case, a classy little 9mm pistol and Karen Black for a human shield.

I don't know why the screamin' zonkers yellow shirt works, but it does, it does.

Thanks for the positive feedback - have to say I was a bit worried about this one.

Not all '70s suits are bad. As long as they don't have some ugly features like bell bottoms and are made of natural fibres, they can be wearable.

The trousers are boot-cut and no cuff. Definitely an odd suit. Slash pockets and wide beltloops say late 60s, and while the design screams for a double-vent jacket, it's actually ventless. Made by Eton Hall, 5th Avenue.

The tie you're wearing looks damn nice with that suit.

Thanks, Douglas. Found it on my trip to AZ. It's a bit of a mix of styles, so I'm thinking I have to find (egads) a 70s rep tie.

Exactly. When I saw it on the rack, it immediately reminded me of those 70s watercolor film posters: guy with a suitcase, girls in bikinis, a fireball, maybe a pair of handcuffs as part of the title.

Yes, that's the one. I've been going crazy the last month trying ot figure out what I was going to match it to.

Unfortunately, there is absolutely no hat in the world that goes with this suit - at least no hat that a short caucasian can work. Makes me wonder if designers started making suits like this because men stopped wearing hats or did men stop wearing hats because they didn't go with suits like this.
