Suit Questions, HELP!

Hello all,
I have some questions on a few suits I have and tried to look the answers up,
but I can not find a thing. It may not help that I do not know the correct terms too.
1. These suits have a hole also in the right lapel (same as on the normal left side). What are these button-like holes called? (other then where you stick the flower)
2. What are these for and are they ever used?
3. I think the suits are from the late 1930s or early 1940s, Any way to tell?
Sorry no photos now, (no camera) but soon, I hope.
Thank you.

1. They're just called the lapel buttonholes. Double-breasted suits often have a buttonhole on each lapel for symmetry; single-breasted jackets usually only have one.
2. They're used for flowers mainly, though they're also great for a "Leather Albert" watch chain/strap.
3. Do they have any union tags inside the pockets? These can help with dating garments.

Thank You.

Thanks for the help.
They are DB and all my other DB suits I have only have the left side hole, so I did not know on these. I did search that term and not much.
I will remember to look for the union labels on these, but right now they are in storage and I am in a wheelchair and can not reach them. Next time for sure though!
