Suggestion on Motorcycle Jacket

Phew, I missed the measurements in my initial review of the listing. No way it fits. I guess it is a little smaller given its “vintage” as I am pretty sure the new model As run large, or perhaps I am thinking Model B. I get them mixed up sometimes. Anyways, go by measurements. This guy claims to work for Vanson so I would hope the measurements are on point. Of course he may just be the janitor.
LOL. Man I think that ones new actually. Look at the zipper box. It's black plastic. That's new school. Plus the length up front is a hair shorter. Don't look too close @JMax, you'll be in my Hell then.

I am not looking too close at it and will take your word for it. Haha. Heck no, I’m good.

This is from the Vanson site for this jacket (I wish the sizing charts they used to have posted would return):
  • Size 42 - Chest measures 46.5 = Normal ease 4.5 inches
Assuming the same ease for this style, I guess it would be fair to say the 40 would measure 44.5 inches? I stepped into @ton312 ‘s hell, but at least now I “know” it won’t fit.

is that also the new vanson label on it?

maybe not... saw some vintage jackets with the same label.

I have several MC jackets. My Vanson Enfield is my favorite to ride in and even lounge in. It's an older one with the brass zipper box and puller. Bought it like new off of Ebay several years ago. I normally wear a size 40 but purchased this one in size 42. Pulled it out of shipping box and it fit perfectly.

If I understand correctly it is possible that a size 40 should fit as a 42 however for this specific ebay jacket this may not be true. In addition the listing is for a newer jacket NOT vintage due to the plastic zipper box? I may indeed try and find a Vanson Model A! Thanks!

I'd say that a Vanson Model A fits true to size. I'm a size 40-42 and A in 40 was okay for me if I wore it only over a T-shirt. It was really a skintight jacket so for layering I would've definitely needed a 42.

Model B runs a size large. B in a size 42 was huge on me and a 38 was exactly like the Model A sz. 40. Well, kinda as it was a bit more restrictive but the numbers were near spot on. I've yet to try a B in 40 but I think it would've been perfect.

Model A is hardly a casual jacket anymore. It's perfect, I love it but the newest version is a serious motorcycle jacket. Much more so than the B. That's good I mean but something that should be noted.

Yes, I called my brother in NYC, who “borrowed” my model B. I hope to see it again. It is a size 40 and I am usually a 42, sometimes 44, in Vanson. Thanks monitor. Holding it down for us.

The jacket doesn't look vintage to me. Outside the new looking condition, the plastic zipper box and internal leather trimmed pocket are new additions to how Vanson builds jackets. It's a steal and I've finally convinced myself it won't fit. Somebody will be remarkably surprised when they unbox that jacket.
