Suede/velours leather-fans?

maybe not on almost every finger like the guy, but I can see the synergy between faded indigo, and sand/camel (cord or suede or moleskin or canvas) and a turquoise ring or something as long as not plural, I don't see myself wearing precious or semi precious stone doesn't fit with my thin physique, imo you need to pack on some weight and perhaps a bit of fat to make sense of big protruding rings like that

It works for him because he's just kind of become known for rocking the nudie suit and classic southwestern western wear look really well, but the look also goes along with the music.

Me I get by with my brass BTS buckle that I wear every day, and wearing a bolo tie on Christmas but I'm also thin and can't pull the western rhinestone cowboy look.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but..

Rough out > Nubuck > Suede in terms of quality / durability.

Rough out - full grain leather flipped over, grain goes inward, flesh goes outward. Very desirable.

Nubuck - basically top grain leather with the grain side lightly sanded to give it the nap. Basically as good as top grain leather, which is still worse than full grain.

Suede - basically split leather with the grain removed / split off. So you're getting the worst / weakest part of the leather with the best part (grain) removed.

So, apart from the nice soft feel of it, suede would be the least desirable of the 3 "non-smooth" leather types.

some suede like goat suede is just rough out, since goat skin is thin and there is no split goat, but generally yes,

nubuck is hairless just like rough matte surface, you mostly see them used as accent on running shoes.

roughout usually is made into workwear boots

suede is used for dancing shoes, women shoes (shoes that is not a daily wear)

Suede - basically split leather with the grain removed / split off. So you're getting the worst / weakest part of the leather with the best part (grain) removed.

Not always split leather.
At least in old Germany, specific "split leather" velours jackets, usually pork, rarely cow, are the very affordable, heavier and low-end suede jackets, wit both topsides of the skin cutted. Can be nice sturdy as a tank, doesn't smell that good. Excellent basic!

But the majority of suede jackets here are good middle-class sheep or fine premium goat. I think, rarely buffalo. Maybe too expensive.

Since 2007, Suede jackets here increased astonishing in price and became more or less rare!

Thankfully I haven't found myself wanting a bunch of turquoise jewelry.
Some folks like Charley Crockett for example and pull it off, but I can't and am not much for jewlery.

As for the turquoise, I went down a rabbit hole over the last few years. Now that I’m back out I’ve discovered that I love the native American designs from the 40s. I own 3 watch-cuffs which strike a balance for me between jewelry and function. I have 1 ring which I bought at the Santa Fe flea market in the mid-90s. This thread didn’t help my self-control:

This early 70's pioneer wear suede trucker just arrived in the mail.

It came with a nice little surprise in the pocket.

I assume it came with the jacket, it's dated 1973 which sounds about right.
