Stylemaster in Acorn Fawn

I asked for a photo of the Stylmaster in Acorn Fawn color on the Akubra Overload thread, but apparently my post got buried in that epic.

I'd really appreciate that, or at least a link to a site with a decent pic. I might even go with another earth tone color, so throw me a photo if you have a green or brown Stylemaster, as well.

I want to take advantage of Everything Australian's practically giving Stylmasters away now, but its web site generally stinks and is no help at all on photos.

Time is of the essence, so thanks in advance!

This thread has pictures. The first two are way darker than the hat looks in the flesh, the second two are truer to the actual color.

Here you can see an acorn fawn stylemaster rebashed. The photos here are pretty true to color, althoug the bound edge looks darker in the pictures than it does in person (on mine at least).

This thread has a picture of me doing some yardwork in an acorn fawn Stylemaster.

I really like the hat, you can't beat the price. The only things that I might change are adding either a darker ribbon/bound edge or going with a thinner ribbon. I think the answer there is for me to get a Campdraft or Open Road.

Style masters

Hi guys, I just wanted to add a pic in one of my style masters, its a black and white shot, the hat is a carbon grey, I also have an acorn which I find goes with lots of clothes, Id love to find a dark green one like my grand dad had. For me the style master is one of the nicest shape hats out there!

Bogart?

Hey lot. My birthday was Wednesday, so I've got some spendin' money now, and am looking to turn it into a nice beginner's fedora. I'm between the Stylemaster and the Bogart.

Your pictures, TopGumby and Ken, are tipping the scales to the former's side a good deal (Ken, you are stylin'!).

Anyone have a picture in a Bogart? Preferably a some variation of gray.

Thanks for the links, TopGumby. I knew there had to be pics here, but the FL search function is not that great, and I did not have time to wade through every thread with "Stylemaster" in it.

On to EverthingAustralian to order my Acorn Fawn, which appears to be a very versatile color. Can't wait for my first Stylemaster!

Awesome pic, ken! They stylemaster is a great looking hat!

B. F. Socaspi, while I don't have any experience with the Bogart, I just got my Akubra Stylemaster in steel gray yesterday, and I have to say it's a good hat. It's hard to find a hat of its quality at the price you can get one for. I'll try to post a picture of mine within the next day when I have access to a camera.

Thanks Scion and B F for the comments, but how do you look anything but good in a stylmaster? Looking forward to seeing some pics of you guys in stylemasters too.

Re the Bogart

Unlike the Stylemaster, no dealer seems to stock the Bogart in Carbon Grey (or any of Akubra's other grey shades), so keep in mind that there will be a wait involved while the factory makes one up. This can be as long as three months.

I am now ten weeks into my own wait for a Carbon Grey Bogart with a black ribbon. (Since I've never seen a dealer picture of a grey one, I wasn't sure if it came with a same-color ribbon like the Stylemaster, so I specifically asked for black. I much prefer the contrast-color approach.) I expect to get a ship notice any time now... Yeah, it's been a long wait!

Anyway, I will report on it when it finally arrives.

(One good thing is that, at my request, the dealer - Hats By The Hundred - billed my credit card a few weeks ago to take advantage of the dropping Aussie dollar. It came out to nearly $20 less than I expected to pay when I ordered the hat in early September!)

Pulled the trigger on the 7 1/8 Acorn Fawn Stylemaster this morning at EA. Price was a ridiculously low $54.90, and with shipping, a mere $66.20 total U.S. dollars!

Am I dreaming? Or maybe died and gone to heaven?

Let's see, what Akubras do I not yet have? There's the Whippet, the Hampton, the Campdraft, the ...

NonEntity,
That's a great price. I have one on order from the same place and I paid $71.00 six weeks ago.
I want to order a campdraft but I'm waiting to see how the stylemaster fits before I go ahead and buy another hat since the stylemaster is my first real fedora.

Here's the new Stylemaster in steel gray I got in the mail just a day ago. Dressed a bit more casually than ken in his stylemaster, but its a great hat. I definitely like it. The felt is a bit lighter than shown in the dark photos.

I couldn't stand it any longer. I had to jump on the Akubra bandwagon. I just ordered the Stylemaster in Mid Grey, $68.50 shipped, from Everything Australian. I hope their customer service is as good as advertised, because now the waiting game begins. :eusa_doh:

The waiting is definitely the hardest part, but it will all be worth it. Just let us know when you get it and share your photos!

Ok. You guys have sent me over the edge. As soon as my fingers complete this short post, I'm heading over to EA to order one. It's not that I have an addiction, or anything of the like. In fact, I can quit anytime I want to...........

I thought that too, but here I sit in jammies and fedora snorting a line of rabbit hairs.
