I think the only way the cops would stop me is if they thought I was the little old lady of Pasadena.

The way I drive, if they stopped my chili pepper car, it would be because I was wearing a fedora and they might think I was a drug dealer.

A friend I was with, in her silver-gray Lincoln Mark VIII, got stopped by CHP for speeding, but believes she was targeted because I was in the car with her, wearing one of my newsboy caps. (imagine his suprise when he walks up to us and finds we are both old ladies.) Christine turned on her little-girl charm, which I do not have, and got out of it with a warning.

She was doing 80 in a 65 mpr zone.

Give me red cars and I will take my chance with speeding tickets!

Wow! That was some experience Karol. :jeep: I have never had that happen to me---getting stopped because I was wearing a hat that is.
I have had a policeman come up along side me and ask where I got one but that is about it. ;) The speeding thing I have had happen---a few times. :p In those cases I was not wearing a hat so I guess my experience is quite the opposite. So I have come the conclusion----wear a hat it gets you out of traffic violations. :cheers1: I suppose I shouldn't speed either. I guess it has to do with those high speed driving classes I took when I was younger. Suffice it to say---there is nothing like getting a Ferrari up to the speed where you cannot shift any higher. Its a different world in that speed range. You have to be alert as all get out. Everything you do is magnified at that speed.
I could see you in a RED Ferrrari with a newsboy on getting it up to about 140mph. Hold onto that hat! :p

I don't know the exact number, but I like to think it is less than 4 seconds.:p

Uh huh. I think the factory made a mistake and put a Corvette engine in your Buick. :p
It does have four doors but it not necessarily a Phaeton. If you want to make it into a convertible with a divider then you are getting close though. :p Post a picture after you make it into a convertible---that should be interesting. :p

And GM - well. GM, in my opinion, had relentlessly committee'd itself into being the dullest carmaker on the planet. Ruthlessly eliminating anything in the model lines that created interest or identity. I say this as a lifelong GM man - but not the next car. You can buy three Buicks in ten years for $70,000. or one good Volvo for $40,000.
Anyone drive anything interesting lately?

In the time my wife's owned her Jetta, I owned THREE GM cars. We bought a VW Beatle (cause it's retro, takes off like a rocket and is as sturdy as a tank...) GM needs to start putting more focus on making cars that last or people like me won't buy them again.

Same here... Jake if you want me to host the pics, you can send them to me through my mail - renderking@thefedorachronicles.com

IMHO, the new Chevy HHR builds on the retro look of the PT Cruiser.
Though it won't be out until Q4 2005...

I rented one this weekend. Here are some photos I took of it.

.

I got to thinking more about this subject and I realized that there are several cars that have seen the Retro Look.

I think the Crysler 300 is a bit on the retro side, I admire the risk that Crysler took in designing it. That Fourty-Nine is nice, but the GT-40 truly has vintage flair.

For some reason the MSR price on the T-Bird and the SSR appear a lot lower than they are on the car lots. Those prices seem reasonable in comparison. ;)
I think I'll run out and buy myself that GT-40. Yeah right! :p Even if you could afford it the damned insurance and license (In California) would kill you. :kick:
