No dead animals for me, but my office is all about OLD books and maritime memorabelia....manly enough I'd say. All you need is some framed maps, a couple of old telescopes, and a barometer....done! instant masculinity...

Yes, I agree! Nautical themes are also very nice! :)

For a riff on the "nautical" theme, I've actually been considering someday building a coffee-table with a Plexiglass tabletop over a hollow section containing a reprint of a nav's chart of Guadalcanal, with a few small model battleships parked on it. Ditto for the "War Room", but with a tactical map of the Battle of the Bulge and miniature tanks, along with replicas of Patton's revolvers...

And for an Old West theme, mounting old side-by-side coachguns as doorhandles.

Just some random thoughts... and if books aren't "manly" then will somebody please explain to me how Niels Bohr achieved both a Nobel in physics and a reputation as a hardcore soccer-player?:p

Or reassemble a whole car as a coffee table.

Oh, forget that! There's nothing manly about a yellow '72 Gremlin where your sofa should be. lol

Do as a old friend of mine did: Take the rear wheel off of an old Harley chopper and prop it on a milk crate where the coffee table should be, and never move it again. Nothing's manlier than a decrepit vintage icon of days gone by dripping oil and grease on your landlord's carpet.

No. I'm not actually reading these posts. I'm not even reading the things I write down. Why?

I didn't say we read the articles; I said we read the "articles." Much the same as we read the "posts" in the Ladies of the Lounge thread. ;)

When I saw the title of this thread, my first thought was someone was looking for a recipe...

On the other hand, if you are looking for an Old World boar's head to mount on your wall, I might recommend the following site.

http://www.frankonia.de

This is a department store chain in Germany specializing in all things Hunting. If you search using the word "Keiler", (German for Boar), you will be displayed all the things you will need for going out and getting you own boar's head. Drillings, instructional DVDs, trophy mounting shields, and more. That way you will not only have your trophy head, you will have a story to tell.

Haversack.

LOL! That's funny. Thanks for that link. I do prefer to hunt my own ;)

As for a Testosterone filled dwelling – add a western saloon style long panel bar, poker table and a stripper pole to the list.

My brother has two caribou heads an another set of caribou antlers in his living room, plus a bearskin on the wall and numerous very long firerarms stacked like corde wood. And a ram skull on the mantle. It's all very picturesque, but I have to tell you, you have to be VERY careful how and where you sit down.
On a more serious note, there are a number of bores here at my office whose heads I'd like to stuff and mount on the wall.
