That's why I don't live in Florida. If I have to be eaten by an animal I would prefer it to be a mamal - bear or wolf.

P.S: Smithy, I used to hate wetas. Put my foot in a my gumboot once without checking.....

Oh dear, oh dear, Miss Sis! I had a nasty experience when cutting through a bit of really thick bush at the back of a mate's property when I was about 10 and came out with three on the back of my t-shirt. I was never the same with wetas after that.

Smithy, we lived with bush all round us - there were always plenty of wetas and spiders about!

fftopic: Really, really great. Trondheim is such a beautiful city (plus a lot better climate than Bod?? where we lived last time we were here). I might have to post some pics in the Steamer Trunk section of FL...

Well, we don't have much of anything that hasn't been listed. What freaks me out is that many of them have been in our HOUSE. A snake, raccoon, squirrels... We've been renovating for 4 years and they find their way in.

When we moved here the pool hadn't been used in years. We had a bunch of tree frogs that I just loved. They'd come out and sing every night. I really miss them. Took forever to clean up the pool.. then it busted a few summers ago! Put in a new one and haven't seen/heard frogs since.

We also have a groundhog living under our shed. I hate possums! We have baby birds every spring too.

I have some very similar pics of the ugly vultures. I had one of an owl but I can't find it.
Anyhoo.. here's an album of our "sightings" if you're interested! BTW, we are one street over from main street in our town so these varmits are pretty brave.

Nikki, what a lovely back garden you have, it looks big, lucky gal. I love all your furry visitors but snakes are not a favorite of mine. I would adore a pet racoon but they are so naughty.

Thank you Goldwyn! The property used to go all the way back to the treeline. But when the house went up for sale they sold that separately.. now we only go back to the fence.
And I'm afraid they're going to plop houses back there some day.

Our plants look lovely this year, I need to take some new pics!!

We get some deer every so often as well a a couple of ducks that use our pool as a private pond. I've always wondered what the law was on killing an animal in your back yard, because those animals are coming right to me, and I'm a mighty hungry person.
