Hi to all,
summer is at the end, and I've to store my Panama Hat.
How might I do it?
Have I to store it with the brim shaped how I wear it (upturned in the rear; downturned on the front) or have I to store it with both upturned?
Have I to put in it an hat strechter or not?
Is good to store it into a chellophane bag and then into a box; or have I store it into a box without bag?
Thanks in advance to all.

Regards.
Riccardo.

All my hats are stored on a coat hall tree, sans coats, so I guess it's a hat tree. My felts and straws are stored the same way. All boxes have since gone to the landfill. I understand from a previous post, poster unknown, that there are certain properties possesed by cardboard that are detrimental to felt. I don't know if straw would be affected by cardboard the same way as felt.

Any way I turn the brim up all the way around on all hats that I'm not wearing regularly. I don't know if it helps or makes a difference, but it's become a habit with me.

I would turn up the brim on the hat if it is a fedora shape .One major problem that i find with panama hats is that they will turn brittle after a few years . Try not to storage them in an area that is dry . The older panamas from years ago seemed to be made of a better material ,but todays hats
