Use a toothbrush to clean properly all of the metal components. Then Use a pencil to scratch off the residue the brush did not take out. Cut a two-inch long lead from the pencil and crush it to make powder. Brush the power on all the metal zipper components. If the zipper has light tape, use wax. Elbow grease goes a long way. Good luck with your project!
Get a pencil and rub it up and down the zipper. The graphite should help the slider move more easily. The vintage Kwik on my A-2 was very gritty and stiff before I did that.
