Might as well bump the Turf Club thread up by the Shore Club thread....

I would venture to say that in general a vintage hat without the liner and without the original leather sweat the resale value of the hat is diminished. How much is a guess. The only way to tell is put it up for sale and see what the marketplace tells you. I have vintage hats with great condition on the felt but with stained liners and replaced leather sweats. Doesn't bother me as the hat still looks great. If I wear the hell out of it then it doesn't matter to me the resale value of the hat. As a tip....I think the Forum would like questions like this to be posted in the "Ask a Question" thread. But they are suggestions rather than hard and fast rules and if it is totally out of place the bartender will make the adjustment.Apologies if this is not the correct place to post this. I'm still unsure about how to use this forum. I have a late 40s/early 50 (I think) with no liner. I have done some searching and have found very few Turf Club models, and none without a liner. (Or any Stetson w/o a liner for that matter.) Could it have come without one? If it should have one and doesn't, does this ruin the value? Except for the leather band being a bit fragile, it's in otherwise decent shape.

1930's Turf Club...... I don't think this one spent much time at the track.

Thanks, Bowen. The block number looks like 307 ?. I can't make out the last digit if it is one. Justin's 1930's Turf Club a page back has a nice clear typed re-order tag with the block number 307.Pure joy Robt.

Thanks, Brent.Dang, that’s a handsome hat!
Thanks Jim.Wow, great example, Robert.
307 and-a-half?
Thanks Jim.
I don't know much about block numbers..... I can't remember seeing fractions though?
Thank you, Eric. Yes, it is a light grey with just a hint of green. The ribbon is a dark blue green. The felt is very thin and soft but holds a crease with no effort. Glad you like the crease ..... it seemed appropriate for a 30's hat.WOW! Just plain wow! Is that a very light gray. My laptop shows it with a blue hint in the direct sunlight. Very nice! The crown of the hat looks so easy to crease as shown by the casual front pinch. I like the way the crease emphasizes the tall sides of crown.
That is just plain a great hat! Congrats!
Love this hat!
