Found this after a quick Google search. Item number 6. Looks like it might be related to the Stetson University and not a hat company employee award. Could be wrong though, they are a little different with the EBay one looking to be older and 14k gold.

Interesting supposition. Though, I am trying to imagine what a "quarter century club" would have to do with a school. The plastic one you linked to had the word "graduate" on it and the one on ebay does not. But you could be right.

If the weight and karat are correct, the gold value is approximately $130.

Ah, I see. I used .18 for the weight as the ebay seller said but forgot that the tab I put it in said "grams" when the .18 was ounces. Using grams, I get close to what you got.

Looks like in 1929 Stetson charged up to at least $4.50 for a hat renovation.

This photo (based on the hats worn) could be Germany or Austria at the same time period. All the soft felts have curled brims and Stetson is wearing a Homburg.

I don't think I really ever understood "covet" until I looked through the Stetson factory photos. I painfully want lots of those hats.
