Stetson Rapid Fire 1943 Ad Campaign

We've seen these ads before but here is a spiral bound dealer book containing the 1943 Spring ads with the "Loose Talk Can Cost Lives!" theme. Book was too long to scan the top which lists each month/magazine the ad appears in.

Say, lefty or rlk, do either of you have any sort of smallish (between 4 inches and 7 inches) Stetson logo or metal or plastic sign or something that has the word Stetson on it that you'd want to sell?

Finally got that Stetson suitcase-styled hat box in today. I haven't a clue what came in this case originally. Maybe an early Stetson 100? or a 50 maybe?

As far as construction goes, the whole thing is made of hard paperboard. It is not hard sided or leather. The cardboard is about as thick and strong as the oval Stetson hat boxes with the webbing strap on them. Pretty sturdy stuff.

Originally it was completely empty (and it has no markings other than the Stetson name on the outside). So, I took some foam core board and some red velvet and gussied it up a bit with some inserts.

I stuck my Stetson Open Road Twenty-Five in it to see what it would look like.

What do ya'all think? Anybody seen anything like this? Any idea what would have come in it?

My final plan is to wait for one of those oval Stetson boxes to come up on ebay... hoping for one that is beat up, but one with the foil Stetson logo on it. Then I'll cut the busted up Stetson oval box and glue the logo into the lid on the velvet I put there.

Cool case. The 100 case that my 7xCB came in (I have no idea if they started life together) is of the same sort of construction.

MV -- your case reminds me of others that I have seen over time that have been associated with 7X CB/Stetson 50 lids.

It would be interesting to know if Stetson 50's came with a case -- albeit a less extravagant one.

Left, it gives me comfort to see that your house looks like my house.
We might need a thread for that (if there's not one already...)

7X CB OR c.mid 50's

I have no reason to doubt the history on the box. The box had been taped shut and the hat unused.

I've had no luck trying to find out more on this person.

This is sort of what I am thinking. It isn't a Stetson 100 case, but a 7X or a 50s case from maybe in the late 40s early 50s. I'm guessing clearly, but the construction seems to tell me this.

In THE COWBOY HAT BOOK by Reynolds and Rand page 106, a gold pasteboard hat box, marked Stetson 100...just like the silver type.
