My 84 year old hands aren't what they used to be. I want to thank each and every one of you, for your kind comments and wealth of expertise. I sure am glad my grandson is here to help me with this computer. I can use my VCR, but the computer has so much technology, I really don't understand it! I told my grandson, he can have any of my hats, this particular one he doesn't want, so I asked if he can help me sell it, to put towards his college education.

Here is the pictures that some of you asked for. It would be great if I can drive down to Fedora lounge and talk with you guys some day. I'll buy you a beer or two for all your input.

Thanks again,

- Bambolina

Hey Bambolina:
Glad you are still around.
Welcome to the lounge, hopefully you will continue to come see us. I know you have had an interesting enterance to the lounge. You certainly gave us something to talk about!! Ha
Now...about that hat...anyway we could see the tags behind the sweatband and under the liner if you have time? I know that would interest several of us very much. I hope so.
Thanks for posting the hat. It’s an awesome hat!!
Be well. Bowen
Ps: i see your pics now..thanks

For my part, I generally agree. I shake my head at the prices some of these go for, but I also recognize my philosophy is different. Some collectors are willing to do and pay anything to get what they want. For me, the hunt is what gives me satisfaction. Plus, I'm a skinflint, so doling out the premium prices is against my nature.

I get satisfaction not only having the item, but also from how I obtained it. I'm damned proud I have a near-pristine Whippet I paid 1/10 of the recognized "going price" for. Same with all my hats. It took me a few years to acquire a vintage Strat, but I nailed it for $75. That's what I like.

And I don't mean to disparage those who do it differently. We're all out to have fun with this hobby. If it gives you joy, you're doing it right.
Very well put. I, however, am not a patient man. Wish I were.

I've noticed that about you.... :D
A dentist is supposed to be patient. To me, that was the hardest obstacle in dental school. It took a lot of effort and frustration to learn and accept the fact there are no shortcuts in dentistry. If you try one, you will have to start over later, and with an angry patient.
A Mexican saying, "The lazy man works twice as much" really applies to being a dentist.
