NO LONGER FOR SALE !!!
You missed out
mid 1950s Stetson Railbird in a gorgeous grey heathered felt
This is a very rare hat
They almost never show up on the market... and if they do they are absolutely nowhere near this condition
This hat is absolutely mint and had never even been creased until my fingers dig into the crown
a little history on this particular piece
I acquired this hat from a man named Al in Colorado who worked at the store imprinted on the sweat in the mid 1950s ... as Al recalls he was given this hat around 1956.
His boss would give hats as gifts on holidays.
Al not being a hat wearer would either regift them or store them in a closet in his home.
Luckily for us this was one stored away.
I contacted Al through a lead ... we spoke on the phone... Al was an elderly fellow who was not interested in shipping the hat at all .
I contacted a friend who lives in Colorado who happened to live about 20 minutes from Al.
He was kind enough to go meet the old guy and ship the hat to me.
The details
Crown - 4 1/2 creased 5 3/4 open
Brim - 2 1/4 with a fantastic triple stitch
Hit me up with any questions or concerns
I hate parting with this hat but I never felt I looked quite right in it and it needs to be enjoyed by someone
It is a gem of my collection
I’m asking $250 shipped anywhere Con. US
I will ship it in the box I received it in which was one of the square 50s Stetson boxes
