Apparently, it's the "1224 Chestnut" model...;) :D

On a more serious note -- looks like both our 3X's share the same style, which was fairly common for the Stetson 3X Mode Edge lids...

Cheers,
JtL
No, its the "Philadelphia";) ;) (Actually a real Model name-I'll let Buler share)

It's funny how things line up sometimes. A bit earlier today, the "Stetson Turf Club" thread was right next to this thread on the board. Check out the Turf Club posted a few months ago by M Jones: Turf Club

With the exception of the ribbon color, it sure looks like the spittin' image of your 3X, don't it? (In fact, the first Turf Club in the thread is also virtually identical in style, though with a slightly different ribbon treatment).

What I've noticed over time is that Stetson 3X fedoras were often clones of existing models that were farther down on the quality/marketing chain (like the Royal Stetson DeLuxe), but did not take on the model name. (As I mentioned above, the only 3X I am aware of that had a model name included was the Bantam). So, for example, I have a 3X fedora that is identical to the Stetson Vogue, but has no model designation on it whatsoever.

In similar fashion, one could make a pretty good argument that your lid (and perhaps my 3X, as well) are 3X versions of the Stetson Turf Club -- based on the lid posted by M Jones.

Anyway -- just some musing on the subject. :)

Cheers,
JtL

I think we've seen 3X better than Royal Whippet style too. The Turf Club does look like it shared a dye bath and Block at least.
