Hi all.
Going to buy new hat. Looked by the Stetson Eaton. But there is little in the photos. Who ever owns this hat? It is interesting to hear their opinions.
My advice: Stetson isn't what it used to be. The felt is far lower in quality than it was 50 years ago (as are most production hats nowadays) and the workmanship is shoddy. If you're looking for a reasonably-priced production felt hat that will be high quality, I would recommend going with akubra. Their Federation IV has a relatively similar look to the Eaton and the hat will be extremely durable. This is a modern Stetson for the european market and is made most likey a little better than the American hats.
If you have looked at all the hats here on this forum they would be several levels higher in quality of this hat.
But if this is your first hat it would be a good beginner one. Just don't expect too much of it.
