I got this one today, and I'm impressed. The felt is great and the styling is classic (you gotta love that wide black band). The sweatband is actually wider than the ribbon, and the liner has a style of pleating I've never seen before. There's nothing about it that I don't like. Fits like a 7-1/4.

brim is just shy of 2-1/4"
sweatband is 2-1/4"
ribbon is 2"

If that color is correct on my monitor then that is one super looking hat. The color shows up like a light silverbelly. The ribbon looks great with it. Nice score. You could make a jacket out of the sweat. You should have a lot of fun wearing that one.:eusa_clap

Some more things I've noticed. The grossgrain is way finer (the ridges are closer together) than any other hat I have or have seen.

With the sweatband being takker than the ribbon, there's none of that problem where the pinch makes the felt go in, but the ribbon stay straight, causing a gap, and potential stretching. It keeps the crown sides straight, and everything in line.

Sweatband seam is taped from the back, instead of sewn. I see this a lot on hats from the '20s and early '30s. Seemed to have died out after that.

I can not say enough about the felt on this one. It feels so soft and smoth, with a denseness that makes it easily formable, and it keeps its shape.

I wore this one to the nationals game today, along with a pair of '30s sunglasses.
I actually saw a bunch of hats there, most junk, but a few really nice looking, extremely fine panamas.
