Randall; I do enjoy that statue. I know it as a statue located in front of the Ottoburg Building in Innsbruck. It was introduced to me as a Memorial to 1809 Tirolean Freedom Fighters. The resturaunt in the Ottoburg is quite fancy and has dynamite food. I wanted to see Innsbruck without the pressures of athletic competition and a couple of years my wife and I got to re-visit Innsbruck. Brought back and created a bunch of precious memories.
You and your best enjoy your world tour sir! Thanks bunches for sharing.
Oscar Wilde (with bowler) and the estonian Edward Wilde;
Not a shadow of the Dublin statue but the artist, who got it sóóó right, sadly omitted his flaboyant Fedora there;
If only his fedora had been there...
One can easily imagine Wilde, adorned by his unapologetic smoking jacket, shimmering trousers, and cheeky smile, flicking his head towards a US Customs Control officer to offer: “I have nothing to declare but my genius.” He struts on, head held high, his heavily polished, charnockite-granite-black shoes clicking loudly as he exits.
