hatsRme "VERY cool, Michael!!! You're right... ONE hat (or head) at a time.
Wait a minute... What SIZE is he?"

Chances are he's NOT a 7 3/4!

To my mind the time to wear a hat (or cap) is when you go outdoors. When you come back inside take it off. The only time to go outside without a hat is when you want to catch cold. This seems normal to me. Why would you be scared to wear a hat to work? What do you think they will do to you?

I wanted to wear a hat the first day, regardless; I wasn't scared to wear it. I'm very confident to wear my hats indoors and outdoors, dressy or casual, and I usually take them off when I walk into a room. Though I'm very confident to wear my hats, I'm also very considerate of my workplace and a new work environment. I knew they would end up appreciating the hats, but I was curious if I would walk into a tight-knit group with thoughts like, "Who does this guy think he is?" I've gotten the "pimp" comments before from random people in public and even friends, and I hate it! So I didn't want to hear anything like that.

That was not the case, though. No one said anything the first day. But yesterday and today garnered a lot of attention beyond my expectations. Perhaps my new boss already explained that I was the "fedora guy" before I got there, because a couple of guys already knew that I wore hats, even when I wasn't wearing my hat when I met them. A woman that sits behind me said that I have "old school charm and new school flair". And an older gentleman told me that if I should come to my desk and my hats go missing that he wouldn't know anything about it. :)

So, no, I wasn't scared. I just wanted to ease in to the new group without feeling like I was drawing too much attention too soon.

...The other day he came into my office and asked me where he could buy a hat. I gave him the complete rundown. Yesterday he stopped by to tell me what he had just bought.

That's pretty cool, Michael. My new boss seemed pretty interested in my Milan yesterday. He said, "I need to get myself one of these." Wasn't sure if he was serious, but I told him I would gladly help him find something his speed.
