Hi folks!

Hoping to pick the brains of all you classy gentlemen out there that own a size 40 or 42 standard Aero highwayman.

What is the approximate pit to pit measurement of your jacket?

Thank you all in advance!!

Can't answer for a 40/42, but I did own a OG hwm in size 38 before, and it had a p2p of 56cm/22" :) something at least(maybe haha).

Sometimes I wish I kept mine(even though it was one size to big), really loved the brown chromexcel as it had aged :D

Cheers!

I have/had 3 stock Aero Leather Highwayman’s which were tagged as 42 and the P2P on all 3 was 25ins or 64cms.
If looking to buy an Aero jacket, in fact any leather jacket, I would always advise asking the seller for various measurements (P2P, sleeve length, shoulder to shoulder, length of back, etc) and not just go on what the tag size says.
Also, early Aero Highwayman jackets (from the 80’s & mid-90’s)seem to be sized smaller than now. I’ve also had 3 stock jackets from this period. 2 were tagged 44 and the other was a 46. One of the 44’s and the 46 both had P2P’s of 25ins but the other 44 measured 24ins P2P.

Consider going to Thurston bros website and cjecking out the stock highwayman jackets they have. They post measurements
Thanks!! They have one standard highwayman size 42. It says it fits like a size 46 with a 25.25” pit to pit.

So I’m guessing a size 40 would fit like a size 44 generally speaking with a pit to pit around 24-24.5”?

My size 42 Highwayman is 23" p2p. So the p2p on these jackets is all over the board. I would expect t size 42 to have a p2p of 23". I think that is fairly standard for size 42 leather jackets.

It depends. Under the previous management everything goes. Under the current management they're quite strict. I had three size 40 Highwaymans, two from sale page and one custom, all size 40, all 24" P2P, 22" hem. If the jacket is made during the current management I think this is the spec for size 40. But I have seen many different sizes from the Japanese used market, wild all over the places.
