66 and the clover got "treated" this morning.
Now the battle begins to stop ants before they get too plentiful on MY property.
Happens every spring.
DDT works great for ants.

Saw a robin today in the yard. He didn't look too happy, since it was snowing. I hate mixed messages
:eusa_doh:You live in Colorado. What do you know.
DDT works great for ants.
Actually, DDT is not particularly good against ants. It typically requires huge doses for even intermediate effect. If you're talking banned pesticides, Lindane (hexachlorocyclohexane) and Chlordane (hexachlorocyclopentadiene) are much more effective.
A former boss used to pour gasoline on fire ants, until he realized that just made them mad.
Unless you ran into some of the foremen ants (smoking cigars) it was absolutely useless.
Mine are the garden variety ants, black and plentiful.
I have some granules I can use in the flowerbeds. Anzar?
DDT works great on crabgrass too, curls it up in about 4 hours.
And no I won't explain how I know that.
I'll run by a favorite hardware store today, and get the ant bait.
I think it's the Raid brand.
The substance starts with a "T", and ants just love it, until they kill the queen.
For you animal and nature lovers asking why I'm doing this....
Ants eat wood, and erode mortar.
Over the past few years, I've seen them destroy part of a 40yr old shed (a few boards in the front are just hollow), and mess up some of my brick around the patio.
So they are not welcome on my property, and when spring time comes (with the rain), they rear their ugly heads.

Already went through our first round of Spring time tornado watches and warnings, so our week of Spring is just about over....then right into Summer! Regards! Michaelson
Had those too, but we got flood warnings as well.Already went through our first round of Spring time tornado watches and warnings, so our week of Spring is just about over....then right into Summer! Regards! Michaelson
Enjoying spending hours outside in London before Summer hits and it gets unbearably hot. Sadly, it's being reported we're due a heatwave in May.
Had those too, but we got flood warnings as well.
High 70's by Thursday.
With all the freezing cold you have been having it should be a nice reprieve.
Cars and weather?
How about cool cars, hot women, and hot weather?
Oh that sounds better.
