In some parts of the World, I am sure the mere "thought" of spring can be felt, but not where we here are located. It would appear that some have converted to being "Eskimo" and not seeing ice or snow may just frighten us to death! The snow had over time, added up on the ground outside of the yard to be almost 4 1/2 foot deep average and over 7 foot tall in some spots. Across the way at a parking lot, the snow is piled up almost as tall at the telephone poles. We have what is now known in the area commonly called, "goosebump" weather.

Spring....a distant dream...yet.

I had to chip my way into my car this morning with a screwdriver. We've gotten a piddling amount of snow from this latest one, but oh, the ice.

I've gone way past being annoyed or irritated or angered by the weather. I find this weather *offensive.* (And if that doesn't raise a fuss and get it to stop, nothing will.)

Cheer up...Opening Day is only a few weeks away.

What's wrong with everyone's weather?!
We're supposed to meet & greet Lady Spring, and not Mr. Frost. [huh]

Me, on the other hand..

..and I'm not joining in your "midwinter party" time. :p

We got 16 inches. We survived. Going to be in the forties tomorrow! Yay!

Sounds like you got hit worse than we did. We had about 15 cm of snow (6-7 inches) and the temperature this morning was -18C but by today the plows had done their job and the streets were clear. It'll start melting tomorrow...at least of a couple of days!

The ice is the worst. We had a nasty ice storm at Christmas. I had 5 days with no power, no land line, no cell service, no heat, no car (thanks to a large tree limb) and temperatures that went down to -14C. I ended up shutting off the water and draining the pipes to prevent freezing. We finally had power restored on the afternoon of Christmas day. But, hey, they say it builds character!

The roads were still pretty bad this evening (depending upon where you were). I can't imagine the melt off of this and what this is gonna be like!

I think we defended our Golden Snowball quite well.

I got all the character I need, and then some. What I want is to get the taste of rock salt out of my mouth -- there's so much of it on the street and on the sidewalks that you can't go outside without getting a faceful of it. If you listen real close, you can hear the metal rusting.

The ice storm of 1998 is still spoken of with awe here -- you can still see the skeletal remains of birch trees that were bent completely double by the weight of the ice. This winter isn't a big crisis disaster like that, it's more like the annoying guy at the next desk tap tap tapping his pen until one day you just can't take it anymore and walk over and brain him with a stapler.

Whom do I brain to get this weather to stop?

Well, we have had the coldest six months on record since 1912. :p Remember that was the year all those icebergs were floating around and a certain ship ran into one. :p
I think I've heard about it: was it the one where a lot of fancy ladies ended up floating in life-boast? :p

That'll have to be: the button-pushing fella that works for the evil weather-controlling corporation.
IF (or: when) you find him, give him i good kick between his legs, from me (he'll know why!)

When she finds him that goes double for me. That guy better push the button soon or ELSE!
