Spear point collar shirts

In my experience Natty's customer service was great but their quality control was lousy. Ordered a regular fit. They describe it as 5" margin added to chest, waist and seat body measurements. Unfused collar and cuffs and no gauntlet button. The shirt had a 2" margin and was unwearable. I couldn't even put it on as it was pullover style. Collar and cuffs came fused and there were gauntlet buttons. The replacement shirt was wearable, though not a good fit. Collar and cuffs were fused again and the unwanted gauntlet buttons were present as well. I am certainly not a returning customer.

This is an interesting thread. I have a Pendleton with such a collar, and I've always wondered if it was merely odd naval style or if it was of a greater trend. Long pointy collar. Pleated "U" chest pockets. 3-button, wide cuffs. Anchor buttons. A definite naval motif, but something about it also makes me think of Western design. I didn't care for it for the longest time, but it became a favorite.

All except the blue (bottom left) are 40 cm (15.7 in) collars.
The blue one has a 39 cm (15.3 in) collar with a large gap - good for a wider tie knot.

Incredible finds Fastuni. As I've never had one in my size, I wonder, do vintage shirts have a snug fit on the shoulders, or does the seam often hang off the shoulder?

I personally like the grey + blue the most. But there is nothing to be said against the other colors.
BTW the detachable collar shirts have French cuffs, while those with sewn on collars have buttoned simple cuffs.

Papperskatt, the collar points are 7.5 cm. On the blue shirt a tad longer.

Metatron, yes all my vintage shirts are a bit "snug" on the shoulders. Only when I wear shirts that were intended for larger sizes (one or two sizes up), the shoulder seams drop off the shoulder.

That is in my opinion the perfect length. I'm not a big fan of the 3.5-4" collars.

Good to know. I often see photos of shirts being worn with drooping shoulder seams, but I guess it's a matter of the shirt being worn too big, or a workwear shirt with a more generous cut.

all my collarless shirts are very generously cut, a 16" collar being around a 45" chest!
and a 15.5" collar being roughly 42" chest.

But are the shoulders also cut so wide that the seams drop off the shoulders?
