Spear point collar shirts

Hmm. This is really frustrating. I don't have a single vintage shirt in my collection so far, regardless of the collar style. Not one. The few ones I've found here in Berlin (and I'm talking maybe five at the most) were usually way too short in the sleeves department or ridiculously overpriced for the condition they were in. Ah well...

Next time I will visit we will go to "Die Spitze" and the other "Kleidermarkt" together. There ARE shirts but of course many of them are too small.

You kidding me? Of course! But can't say when we will get to Berlin again. Maybe in fall, maybe winter...

You could go with Mario too. Spitze is now in the Suarezstraße, Haltestelle Sophie Charlotteplatz LOL I don't even have to look it up anymore.
Shirts can be had for 30€ but some are more expensive. Mostly short arms though. :eusa_doh:But maybe a short sleeve will come in handy for warm weather

Yeah, short sleeves are great. There's a chance that they actually fit. ^^ I won't go back to buying long-sleeved shirts off-the-rack.

Exactly. That's what usually happens when I'm looking at Colors or Garage while some of the stuff at Spitze and Glencheck would possibly fit but comes at a hilarious price. :wacko:

Spear point collars seem to be making a small comeback.

Luxire, you might want to consider making the unfused ones with a strip of thin linen interlining. Most shirtmakers just don't get this detail right. A long spear point collar isn't supposed to have "body", meaning being kind of stiff. They need to be floppy! If you want to keep those collars in line you need a collar bar, not stiff interlining.

Attached is the image of a spear collar, made in Warzone Oxford with a thin linen lining. Agree with your suggestion. The look and feel is very nice.

Luxire. One of your earlier posts showed a spear point collar in which it seemed to curve out slightly, rather than point straight down. Was that a feature of the collar or simply the way it had been photographed?

Also, just to clarify, there isn't a choice for 'Spear point collar' on your website. I assume i would have to select one of the other collars and then make sure the details of the collar style are in the notes section. is that correct?

Yes, It is a difference in the way these were photographed. The image earlier was taken with the collar placed on the table, spreading the points. The image above was taken with the points hanging as they would normally do on wearing.

The spread can be made to your liking. Also, the tie-gap can be adjusted as desired.

Yes, that is the way these can be ordered for now.
We are facing some technical challenges in making it more intuitive, but its a work in progress.

Spear Point Collar with 4" points. Unfused, lined with a layer of warzone Oxford.

14" Placket and a pleat below.

Shirred shoulder and yoke

Shirred, rounded French Cuff. Amazing pattern match

Hand shanked buttons and beautifully made button-holes

11" long side-slit, with gussets

Shirred sleeve with small cap. Body and sleeve are at a right angle, thus the shirt remains tucked when arms are raised

2" Longer tails, 3 buttons on the placket

If i simply add my measurements and make sure I have included reference to this shirt in the notes, will they know to ignore the fact that I have to tick other boxes (such as normal collar etc) on the form? How should I describe the shirt on the form?

You can select the default options for collar, cuff etc and describe your requirement in the notes. The notes are given priority over the selected options, and if there is any doubt or contrasting information, it is cross checked with the customer before execution.

But cannot discount the fact that we really need to redo our website.
