I've never thought about the age issue. I've dated women younger older and the same age as me. I think as long as something is decent and works and is honest then rest is just nonsense

The Younger Woman

I was in a relationship with a man 20 years my senior, andHungarian. There wasn't any issue with a difference in activity level, he would out ski me day after day, etc.

There was a generational and cultural difference however; he saw his first jet at 18. I rode in one at six weeks. Although it was always fun reply to "Where were you when....." With my standard retort - "Grade School". :p

Younger men: Nice as an escort, but frankly after an evening of hearing about facinating information on themselves, I'm ready for a good book.

That's very funny. I can't imagine holding a conversation day after day with someone who is 25, I'm soon to be 45, although plenty of people do just that. I agree with Lizzie's points about generational references being similar to each other, much easier to carry on a conversation.

(March 21) - Actress Jamie Lee Curtis has once again decided to bare her soul -- and body -- to convince women that they will be their most beautiful if they take care of their bodies and age naturally. The star will help celebrate her 50th birthday by posing topless on the cover of AARP The Magazine.

A lot of interesting discussion here. I know quite a few of the sub-25 group and can honestly say I've little to no interest in dating any of them. Nice to look at, but on occation I like a nice conversation. Not saying I wouldn't be open to the idea, just that a woman younger than I has to really impress me.

My mother and father were the same age, but he passed at 48. A decade or so later she remarried. So saying you wouldn't marry an older man because he'll die first means absolutely nothing.

Exactly - Look at George Burns and Gracie Allen.

Personally, I'm much more comfortable with a man 4+ years older than myself.

Sometimes "older" men have wives at home, so they go out and "hit" on younger women..looking for , well one thing. Off color remarks, hummmm. Too much MTV, and Rap out there where women are referred to as simple meat, for a horny man's consumption. You shouldn't feel "gratefu'" a man would look at you.....a MAN will look TO you, and see WHO you are.

Don't look for perfection, look for compatability. Class. Intelligence. Respect.

Ever listen to Dr. Laura? She chews out looser women every day on her radio show who "lift their skirts" for men, have sex without commitments...and wonder why they never get married. Then they take those hurt and "I've been used" feelings to the next relationship..and it causes problems.

No, we need to get back to MORALS.

Nonsense.

You are inferring that this never happened "back in the day". Which is complete and utter shash - people cheated on their spouses, had sex before marriage and men had mistresses and chased after younger women with wives at home way back before there was MTV. If anything, the double standard was the norm, and consequences for women were far greater back then than now.

That "get back to" idea is complete and utter rubbish. You are rhapsodizing over a time that didn't exist.

My Dad always used to joke that married men don't live longer, it just seems that way! :D

My wife is 5 years older than me, and I would kid her that I was just following Ben Franklin's advice. For my part, I did get the better part of the deal...

With all respect to Mr. Franklin...and he presents a compelling argument...but I'm with Mr. Buffett on this issue. I think he summed up my feelings best in A Pirate Looks at 40.

I go for younger women, lived with several a while
Though I ran them away, they'd come back one day
Still could manage to smile
Just takes a while, just takes a while

I prefer older women.

And they seem to prefer me.

So everything's hunky dory.

Though I have been out with younger women. At 40, I probably wouldn't date women under 35...

But then again, I wouldn't date women of any age..

or my wife wouldn't be happy...

(who, incidentally, is older than me...)

A lot of interesting discussion here.

I agree.

As for me....
I've always dated younger guys (by younger I mean two or three years, not ten). In high school they were usually a year or two younger and even my husband is younger than me by almost a year. I would always joke and say it's because they're easier to train, but in reality, it's because when I did date an older guy they would boss me around. I did and do find older men attractive, but it just never worked out [huh]

Oh and I can never understand anyone that dates women or men that are the same age or younger than their children. My dad does this and he's always wondering why he can't have a conversation with them

Younger ladies for myself, thank you.

(that's not to say immature - I prefer the bookish ones that seem much older than they are...old souls if you will. ;))

"Old souls"...what a crock of....butter.

Say they are mature, that's fine. Showing maturity and knowing what's important and how not to be a drama queen (or king) is a good thing.

Tell me that you're an "old soul" though...grrr, makes my gears grind.
