Wow! Look who is being rude now. Clearly they are wrong on the model. The photos don’t lie. I have the photos I took of the hats nbc sent me to replicate the hat but since you trust them so much your on your own.

Good bye

I was not trying to be rude I sorry for offending you
the hat I contacted jj back when season 2 was airing
I never said I trusted them so much I just said they have been providing hats since season 1

So we know the hat is a Borsalino and if JJ Hats information is correct, it has a 2 1/4" brim. By watching the show (Just loaded to Netflix Canada so I started watching it this weekend) Spader said his hat size is 7 1/2. You can buy an Anello flat out if you choose to, or you can start scouring ebay for like hats. Keep in mind 2 1/4" brim on a 7 1/2 hat size looks smaller then the same size brim on a size 7 head. So if you are smaller than a 7 1/2 possibly consider a 2" brim instead.

After skimming the last few pages the real questions that should have been put to John Penman is.

Do you know the model of Borsalino sent to you by NBC?

As company's sometimes change clothing to suit the character. Can you please share the specs of the hat in question? Brim with? ribbon width? crown height? If not we understand. Professional discretion and all.

I think that's how this conversation should have gone pages ago.

Thank you, yes that would have been a much better way of asking for info.

The specs of the JJ hats claimed they sent is not the same as the hats I had nor is the model the same.

Thank you to everyone who has helped during this entire thing. It seems everyone is getting it but the person asking.

I think Spader likes wearing hats even off the show...I am positive he has worn a Fedora while on a talk show a while back, it looked like a Como from Borso but some of the newer hats they make are fairly close looking to one from another.

I saw that interview I think you are right it’s all becoming so similar it’s hard to tell the difference

I think it is clear...he wears a Borso...LOL! I knew that first time observing him wearing his Borso......

Is this where I should pedantically point out it should be "Borsa," not "Borso?" [emoji14]

Also, I read an article once that the actress who plays Liz can't wear his hats because they're too small. If he's a 7 1/2, she's a human bobblehead!

Look, let's just do this:
I just got off the phone with J J Hat Center. In fact, the person I spoke with claims to be the one responsible to issue out the hats used on The Blacklist. He says the Hat in question here is the Borsalino Fortissima, which is the high-end beaver version of the Anello in rabbit. I can't find one for sale and only came across this old post on pinterest:

The Fortissima is the 2 inch version of the Beaver Borsalino hat. JJ does supply Mr Spader with these hats. We did have the designer for the show pop by our store a short time ago . We gave her a hat for Mr Spader and we will see what happens.

We ended up supplying the shpw with two custom made Beaver Borsalino hats. Mr Spader is very particular (or maybe it was the designer!) about the hat. It had to be 2 inches in brim width . The problems that come along is that colors can vary from time to time escepialy in the Gray selection. But everything worked out in th eend.

Just buy the Anello if you want a Borsalino, because it looks like you can't get exactly what was supplied to the show. The Fortissimo was a limited edition to JJ, and Bencraft special ordered the Borsos they supplied.

Besdor is the owner of Bencraft, if you were not aware.

Honestly...unless you desire to have a exact match hat...many of the modern hats made from that company look fairly close to each other and of course if a hat has that metal looking logo thing on the bow area, then it may be an important factor...I myself don't care about such small things but some would, all a matter of what you think if you are going to wear it.

Benchcraft is a good source for a hat as they normally know their product and have good service to customers.

I did get a sort of similar hat and I wear it every day just the brim I found is too wide and long that’s why I’m looking at a borso (now I just think borsa)
