So, I find a vintage hat I've been hunting for quite a while. It's in terrific shape, and comes with it's original box. We settle on the price, and the seller (not a forum member) assures me he will pack it up carefully.
The seller emails me with tracking numbers, and mentions that the postal clerk did him a *favor* by "adding lots and lots of extra tape to the box because it was old". He then goes on to explain that the hat box was just small enough there was no up-charge for its size (oh good...lol).
Yep, my near mint fedora is trecking across the country in a 70 year old box that is collectible in its own right. The best part... At least there will be "lots and lots of tape" holding the box together while it bounces around the back of a semi.
LMAO!!
