Johnny, You have a wonderful collection. Take your time and feel comfortable.
When you are ready to sell your hats rest asured there will be a very long que waiting with baited breath for the offerings. I believe I will be one of those in line.

I'm sorry for being so skeptical, but exactly how is this going to "all work out"? How many Lounge members might be interested in your fedoras? Fifty? A hundred? More? Exactly how do you plan on managing all the inquiries? It seems to me that the fairest and most logistically sound method of selling these hats is by auction. Just my .02 - I could be wrong. I've been wrong before.[huh]

Anybody else want to chime in on this...?

Just sit tight. It's a very large project. Johnnyphi brings the hats, we bring the patience.

Alan....

Beautiful Lid.....
Don't ya just love the vigin felt of an untouched/open crown out of the box? There's just something about it, isn't there? It's like being a kid with a pile of Play-Doh. :D

He is a good guy . . . he is working hard . . .
It is not like this is a public service, or a government agency . . .
What is fair is what works best for him.

He is taking the time . . . he invested the money . . .
But I bet, if you contact him, and are patient, he would try to help you out.

Okay, here's a bad pic, but it's the best I could get for the moment, the angle makes it look a little odd. I'll do some decent pics of the crease later. This thing dry bashes wonderfully.

Alan, Nothing odd about that hat. It looks pretty swell. You got yourself a beauty there. (Some one needs to come up with a drooling, jealous looking emotacon.)

Here are a few pics after some preliminary creasing. I put a diamond bash in it that I modeled after Art's crease in my Tropic-Aire (all shortcomings in this crease are my own fault and not Art's!).

I really like the contrasting edge ribbon.
I know you said it was a bad pic of you in the hat but I don't see it; you look great in that hat!:eusa_clap

Beautiful!!!

After 60+ years in the attic... this beauty is finally where it belongs!

Thanks for sharing your photos. The owner of Hirsch's Men's Store (now retired at age 90) would be impressed by your masterful crease, and I know he will be glad to learn that his old hats are going to good homes. (For his sake, I haven't posted his name on the Lounge.) He is still around, and he is hopeful that my project will be successful. I give him occasional updates on my progress, and I think it is time for me to give him a call.

I spent 14 hours with the inventory yesterday, and we made major progress. I'll try to post an update on my original thread today or tomorrow, so everyone has a better idea of the scope of my project.

As always, thank you all for your interest in the hats, along with your patience while I prep them for sale.

^Thanks for the kind words, everyone. Johnny, I hope that the owner will be happy with what becomes of his hats. They couldn't find better homes than with the good folks here at the Lounge.

Here is a better picture of me wearing the hat, cross posted from the What Hat Are You Wearing thread, but placed here for reference:
