I like them,I've owned a few pair back in the 70's and early 80's.They weren't as popular as some other boots but they were relatively cheap in the army/navy store's.We called the lil abner's In the bronx...true story.

They are extremely comfortable out of the box.
Stiffer side I'd say, but not uncomfortably so.
I could walk or ride - walked last night.
Boots are heavy.
Boots run 1/2 size large I'd say.
I would feel safe riding with them. They are about the most substantial boots I own.
Cork soles are fantastic. First time I've had that.

Very nice boots, I had a pair of Ricoh lace to toes years ago and they were my favorite boots. Once broken in they
felt like a natural extension of my foot. I have a bad ankle and they worked very well with my reduced range of motion.

Sorry to annoy with another pic, but I am determined to wear things and not just buy this year.
The boots are amazing. I'm sorta used to the weight now, and everywhere I go, I get asked what they are - in a good way.

Wearing with the new Gustin Japan 21's. If I were to break my stint on the spending wagon, I'd get the brown in Horse Hide as well.

Not really my cup of tea, but it's good to see something different here. Having said that, the lace-to-toe makes them look like my Wesco Jobmasters from above, but with a more elegant sole. These could be a grower...

At first I disliked them, a lot - now I'm just thinking I would never muster the courage to wear 'em. They're much better looking when worn, as it is the case with most of this stuff. But it's really cool you love them so! Best thing about this place.

I still loathe those horrors with those horrible... serrated edge flaps that stick over the toes. Red Wings Loggers have it. That's just... Ugh.

Those tongue protectors are loose. One chooses whether or not to add them to the lacing. I never do. Boy do I have a lot of those things in a drawer
somewhere, including the THREE pair that came with my last Wescos.

Those are a different boot altogether - and much more affordable.
You can get the black or brown on Amazon for under $200 too. Those are their basic roofer workbook lineup. That is what I was going to get until I happened upon the Wisconsin series special boots.

It's really funny how many here are seemingly adverse to these boots! We've a lust for the old school stuff, and I can't grasp the hesitation on this style. Sure, they resemble bowling shoes. But really, wearing a vintage style jacket makes much more sense now that I can put these on. They are not for the faint of heart as they are heavy boots. Partly no doubt due to my boat feet, but I think they weigh in at about the same rate as my engineer boots, which are large and heavy.
I'm not trying to talk anyone into them - if I were in any way regretting buying them, I'd say so and move on. Just really enjoying them and if anyone can jump outside of the safety of the usual look, these you won't see on many folks around town - not even on the work wear crowds...
