Had a bunch of my cigar friends here in town this past weekend. It's an annual event we have, with guys from another board on which I post and moderate.
One of our friends owned a "camp" out on Lake Pontchartrain, within the city limits of New Orleans. Well, Hurricane Katrina took care of The Camp, so now all we have are our memories and photographs of the good times, good food, good cigars and fishing.
We went out there on Saturday afternoon to lift a glass, and toast a cigar to what was a wonderful time in all of our lives, and those of our families.
Spiridon, of this board and our other board (Cigar Weekly) is kneeling in the front, I'm standing in the back. The Little Hairy One had on a huge brim straw hat as well, just had it on his back for this photo.
This one is from the four New Orleanians. The guy in the CAO hat, is now settled in St. Mary's Georgia, but he travels back once a month to run his business, but wishes to return one day. The guy in the straw lives north of the lake in Slidell.
If you wish to see ALL the photos, you can visit over at Cigar Weekly, only one other photo has hat content, and it's just me in the same New York fedora and my LSU shirt.

Edit. You can see the pilings and one or two pieces of framing. That's all that's left. The Camp floor and runs were twelve (12) feet above the Lake. The top of the house was about another 15 or so feet. That means that the ENTIRE BUILDING was TOPPED by the 28 foot storm surge.
