BNWOT. Just what it looks like, a contemporary approximation of a golden era staple. It was created and named in the wake of Scorsese's "The Aviator", I am sure.
Created by & for the absent lamented vendor, valued TFL member & all around stand-up guy Aaron of the late Aaron Hats in Conway NH, both an online & bricks & mortar establishment that fell prey to the current economy.
For me, I find it has the same shortcomings of modern Stetsons- i.e.- too low crowned and too 'machine pressed' in shape, difficult to 'put your own stamp' on, so to say. Otherwise a nice enough hat w/ nice details- 2.5" bound brim, thin ribbon, leather sweat, 100% fur felt ... all the things that usually "pop my cork" but I just can't abide the lower (4 1/4") crown.
Size: "L"- (I know- ) but it fits my 23", dead on, 7 3/8, head quite well.
So if you are a "modern Stetson" guy this is your hat.
Never worn and purchased to satisfy my curiosity. I have fifty three in it (I'll give you the auction # if you wish) but I'd eat a little crow and take fifty even, shipped, slow boat, in USA. International more. PP only. You know what to do...
THANKS!
