Hi all,

I'm looking to systematized my sock collection a bit and want to find a very high quality year round boot sock that I can buy multiples of without breaking the bank or worrying too much if I lose one here or there.

Thanks for your suggestions.

You might want to check at Sierra Trading Post for deals. Also, Slick Deals can be a decent place to look for deals and lots of feedback from people who actually bought the goods.

The classic boot sock on this side of the ocean,at least, is the RN sea boot sock, all wool, as adopted by Rockers and worn under motorcycle boots (often with the top tucked just over the top of the boot). Available direct from all the obvious rocker-wear places, but also cheaper elsewhere:

WPG - USD19/pair - http://onlinemilitaria.net/products/2875-UK-Royal-Navy-Sea-Boot-Socks/

Gold Top - GBP 12.99/pair - https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sea-Boot-S...Motorcycle-Fisherman-Hose-Cream-/152963827044 (80% wool)

Other ebay alternatives: https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/items/?_...udhi=&_sop=12&_fpos=&_fspt=1&_sadis=&LH_CAds=

This is the best price I've seen, though not handled these ones directly: https://www.bestworkwear.co.uk/sea-boot-socks.html

Various other military alternatives at varying prices - https://www.surplusandoutdoors.com/shop/outdoor-clothing/socks-liners.html

I finally bit the bullet and started buying Darn Tough Vermont socks. They are pricy but I haven’t worn any out and they are guaranteed for life.

A few facts about socks...if you wash in a machine and use ANY bleach you reduce the lifespan greatly. Not easy for some people but handwashing after long soaks in luke warm water is going to give your socks a longer life. Bleach destroys fabric.

Price. You can buy a lot of cheap priced socks...and pitch them. If you want a sock to last and they fit your feet and how you want to apply wearing the socks, then do not be so worried about the price tag. Like most everything else,. how you take care of them is what matters. If you want long socks (over the calf) and do not care if they will be noticed, VK Nagrani (not sure if spelled correctly) has some very well made dress socks that can be used for boots as well as dress shoes. The price is up there about $40.00 a pair but they will outlast most other socks, I have some from my Husband wearinig them for over 6 years and several pairs for myself I have had more than 4 years. I also agree with the brand names Edward has shared. If you look around you can find deals that may suit your budget more...
