It's worth noting that even Idi Amin realised there was a limit to the respect one can garner for being Lord of the Fish, and he went on to found a local university to make him a doctor, (of law of course.) It's likely Idi Amin collected these odd titles to reinforce his image as one of a buffoon, thus distracting the world from the killing of his own people.

We, like most people, have long assumed that when calling a service/help number that we'll get the help or information we need. After all, it's their job to provide accurate customer service. Well. not always.

Last Thursday evening, our home security panel started alarming and flashing the low battery light. So we called it in to find out how to stop the incessant beeping and to find out what we needed for a battery. And we were successful where that was concerned. A couple of trips later (frantic to get there before closing time) to Home Depot (Couldn't get to Lowes in time), and Best Buy proved that no, you cannot buy the prescribed battery at those places. So we ordered from Amazon and decided to see how long the low battery would last. Well, the whoop-di-do battery, promised next year (delivery Jan 3-7) came today. I put it in quickly and fairly efficiently (thank you YouTube!) and low and behold it didn't fix anything. So we called it in and the girl asks "how did you know it was that battery?". Well the guy we spoke to last week said it was. Long story short, a week later and a $50 battery we didn't need, it was the batteries in the "siren" (which we didn't know we had) upstairs. 4 AA batteries. Heavy sigh... A small thing perhaps, but still, you depend on people who know better to give you correct information.

I'll spare you my other battery problem while waiting at the cellphone lot at the airport to pick up my sister Christmas eve - that one involves the guy parking next to me chain smoking, pacing and peeing between the cars. That battery cost $350. But I did need that one.
