So trivial, yet it really ticks you off.

My wife has to cut her burgers in half. I've never understood that.

I'm with her, it make it much more manageable, especially with today's outsized burgers. Give me a tradition 6oz. burger and no need to cut in half, but with today's Godzilla burgers, I'm with your wife.

I usually get the smallest burger that a fast food place has when I'm ordering as I've never liked the massive sized ones. At first, it was because I was such a small, thin kid who didn't need much to keep me going. Then, it was habit. Now, it's more so I don't gain more weight...

You should hear what I have to go through to get a proper milk shake - it would seem that a glass crammed full of soft-serve ice cream is a milk shake around here.
There is a place down the street from me that does it right: scooped ice cream blended into a little milk. You get the glassful plus the blending container. It's two servings, really. I get the malted. It's the only time I let myself have ice cream anymore, and I make it count by going there for it. You'd think it was some little mom and pop business, but it's a chain restaurant. I expect soft-serve milkshakes from those.

Sometimes all they have are the stupid-huge burgers which is why I cut it in half, eat half and give the other half to someone else (who, amazingly to me, probably ate his burger plus half of mine). I just don't like feeling stuffed after a meal which is what happens if I eat the portions that most places serve today. 6oz is plenty for me, but in the silly hamburger size wars 10oz is a "normal" size today.

One of the things I do like about Shake Shack is that they sell small hamburgers - most people get two or three, but for me, it's one of the few places I can order a burger and eat the whole thing.

So trivial, yet I gotta ask....

Crispy tacos:

Certain foods are very difficult to use a knife, fork or spoon for that matter.

My question:

How many of you are able to hold this in your hands after the first bite ?

My compliments if you can ! :eusa_clap

Trivial...but it didn't tick me off, just caught me off guard. I was walking from the truck to the job this morning and an older gent, I'd guess well into his 70s, maybe even his 80s, was standing waiting to cross the street up ahead of me. The light changed and he continued to stand there. As I approached and passed him, I realized he was totally engrossed in his smartphone and unaware the light had even changed. I'm used to seeing this with younger folks, and even people my age, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone that much my senior even talking on one, much less standing there texting away, oblivious to the world around them. Good for him for rolling with the times.

The trick is to heat the shells *with the meat in them* so that the fold becomes just soggy enough to flex when you bite it. Hot meat put into cold shells will end up in your lap every time.

But if you over play your hand with that strategy it can become a falling apart mess - timing is the the key: soft enough to fold / firm enough to keep the structure - then eat quickly.

So he's as oblivious as younger folks?
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay for him...

I think those pre-fabricated shells are ridiculous. I much prefer when they fry a tortilla at the restaurant. But I'm not going to get that at Taco Bell and such.

I've never seen "authentic" taco shells here. I do, however, enjoy making my own tortilla chips, seasoned with a mixture of chili powder, garlic salt, and paprika. That's about as Mexican as a New England Scotch-Irish can get.
