I just had to say- I have just bought two bun/mini snoods and I LOVE them you know, not the kind that go over most of your head but they just cover a small part of your hair at the back.
Both of them have barrettes attached, one has a big cream satin bow with a white net, the other has two big black flowers with pearl centers and a black net. Finally I have an elegant solution to bad hair days/ winter weather, I don't know whether they are authentically 1940s but I think they look a bit more elegant than my usual bandana/headscarf updos. Plus it doesn't necessitate setting my hair, so if I know we're going to have a long spell of bad weather I know not to bother- snoods to the rescue
Plus, I have a spare black net, and instead of just throwing it away I attached it to a giant red rose corsage/ hairpin, so now I have three! I'm especially pleased, cause I always want to wear the rose, but it looks too big when I pin it to the side of my head.
I am excited, in case you can't tell
Yes, pics please! And place of purchase, too. I think what you're describing is something I have been looking for - kind of what dancers wear, like a mini-snood, but with pretty pretties attached. I saw a vast array in Thailand and have been looking for them since!
