Smoking Jacket Recommendations?

Evening all,
I've been thinking of getting a smoking jacket for some time but struggle to find a reliable looking retailer; those seen either being insanely expensive (and not necessarily that great) or its a fancy dress outfit made out of the finest polyester. Was hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction. Im in Britain to clarify. I have seen a German seller called Baturina but all their reviews seem to say great item but terrible customer service/delivery times so a tad off putting.

Maybe check ebay for a Pendleton 49er? It was designed for women, but it was so hugely popular that they made them for men then too. You can tell by which side the buttons are sewn: left for women, right for men. I haven't looked for a few years, but they used to be really inexpensive (less than $15).

As you're GB based, I'm assuming you and I have a common definition of what a smoking jacket is... I found these guys on Etsy in 2023: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1384467009/men-smoking-gown-blue-velvet-long?ref=yr_purchases That's the one I ordered - more of a dressing gown in the longer length, but they do also do the shorter, smoking jacket style in various colours. This is mine being worn:

Quality is high indeed -heavy, nicely stitched. It is a truly tailored piece, rather than a novelty dressing gown. One word of warning: they come up a little small. If I were buying again - and I hoped to - I'd go up a size on what I ordered. If like me you're 'less than athletic' in body shape, it's worth going up one or two sizes, particularly if you want it for lounging at home rather than wearing with black tie as a host. I believe these guys are in India, but from memory delivery took just a couple of weeks. There was another company some time ago offering similar stuff out of Germany. They looked good online and reviewed well, but I can't find them on there today.

Thanks for the tip I will certainly look them up; might I enquire as to what materials theyve used, hard to tell in many photos

Mine is a hefty cotton-velvet, quilted on the lapels and accents, with a lining that is, from memory (I don't have it to hand in the office) polyester.
