Slippery slope ("collecting leather jacket")

Hi all

I think I can see the drop off as if I am slashing down the initial tame slope of a gnarly black double diamond run.

As I slow down a little bit to survey the terrain and pick my line, my adrenaline is pumping, my serotonin is flooding and I find myself at the juncture where I can double check the buckles of my ski boots, crank down the BOA dial on my helmet, adjust my goggles and get ready to "send it" or make a short transverse to the blue trail and carve down the mountain gracefully hopefully.

I recently acquired the following jackets which can all be returned as I haven't worn any of them except tried on for photos.

Schott 613SH

- love the horsehide shine/sheen

- being born in the year of the horse, it's almost obligatory that I shall wear myself

- the slim fit looks very flattering

HD X Vanson Cycle King

- the competition weight steerhide is impressive

- very nice repro of the D pocket Cycle Champ with high quality hardware

- shorter length works for my shorter torso

- regular fit which exudes classic coolness

Schott 568 Vandals

- fits me like a glove

- love the back yoke design

- though I am partial to hefty leather, the "heavy weight waxy tumbled steerhide as Schott called it" still feels substantial

- very nice D pocket design (I think I am kind of obsessed with D pocket) which reminds me a bit of the Aero Ridley in terms of the pattern.

So now I am pondering which one to keep and which one to return...

My girlfriend said "you can keep all 3 and you should keep all 3".

Just want to share...

But right now, this feels quite familiar with some of my "collecting" journeys in the past.

As someone who is pondering how to start his little collection and who also has a girlfriend who would tell him he can keep them all: I rephrase the question to "which one do you like the least?", which usually matches the one I'm the least happy about. Going strictly off aesthetics and not dabbing into quality (because I lack knowledge on this), I would get rid of the Vanson.

Now, there's two jackets, both Schott, both similar in design. Do you want two similar jackets? What versatility am I getting out of that? Don't you rather wet your feet on other colors, other brands, other designs? Again, purely aesthetics, I would keep the 613SH over the 568 and put my money somewhere else.

But this is me. What about you?

Do not keep all is my advice. Your tastes will change, and if you want you can always pick these up again later.

As to which to go for, I would decide based on fit. However design wise I like the first jacket you posted the most
