SJC Gang Jackets

I think he would sell a lot of these if he offered them w/o all the patches. Especially the buttoned up black one (demons).
I know he's proud of them, but...an option would be nice- like with the sweaters.

I would be more keen if they came without patches, but can appreciate others like them.

I like Flat Foot Fluey's Car Club idea...I'd certainly find one easier to wear :)

I'm a big fan of Simon's work!

They are whatever you want them to be. It's a fictional artwork. I mean many brands including Brooklyn Circus, Dehen and RRL all sell varsity jackets with patches. If you like the design don't make it more complicated than it needs to be. In the end it's just clothes.

That being said I just wrote Simon a message about offering the jackets without patches. If you are keen you should do so to.'

This is more like 50s or 60s but you get the idea.

I know nothing of the company, nor any controversy. As for wearing Gang related gear? I cannot. There were no "Fonzies" where I grew up. The "7 Crowns", "Harlem Lords" and "Latin Kings" were real and dangerous. To wear colors of any sort, even fictitious ones is asking for trouble at least here in America, perhaps not in Europe or Asia. Just my 2 cents. "What set you with" is NOT a rhetorical question....

I am with you on this. A long time ago I was friendly with a couple of guys who were members of a motorbike club. This subject came up in conversation once; the gist of it being you don't wear your colours on someone else's turf. If you feel you have to, then you very politely request permission to do so. Those patches have the potential to land you right in it.

I suppose given the fact over here (UK) the jackets are obviously related to the USA, most people would view them as fashion rather than gang items...might attract un-wanted attention in some parts though...even my Stetson Cap does that sometimes :)

Here in the States, there was a time something as simple as wearing red or blue could get you got. I wish it were not so, but it was... at least when I was a teen I knew the rules and the trapdoors on the chessboard. Now I do not. Besides gangs are merely tribes writ large in a modern world. I've no need for a tribe, unless its that of rational, thinking human beings.
