Sad news re Paddy. I’ve heard, and it is confirmed, that Sir Patrick Leigh Fermor died this morning. He had come back to the UK in recent weeks.
My Uncle Joe (Bradley) worked with him on German Occupied Crete with SOE. Paddy was also a respected explorer and Geographer prior to the outbreak of war. Post War he settled in Greece, although he was the stereotype of the English Gentleman Officer.
Rest in Peace Paddy - the world has lost a fine man.
Several obituaries are already online, e.g. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obi...tuaries/8568395/Sir-Patrick-Leigh-Fermor.html
